Official Contest Rules For KLUX-HD
KLUX-89.5 HD-1 AND HD-2 WILL, FROM TIME TO TIME, CONDUCT ON-AIR CONTESTS, THROUGH WHICH VARIOUS PRIZES MAY BE AWARDED TO WINNERS.
WINNERS ARE DETERMINED BY THE TYPE OF CONTEST CONDUCTED. EACH CONTEST MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE CRITERIA WHICH DIFFERENTIATES IT FROM OTHER CONTESTS.
UNLESS OTHERWISE STIPULATED BY ANNOUNCEMENT AND ON LINE IN THIS “CONTEST RULES” CATEGORY, ALL CONTEST WINNERS ON KLUX-89.5 HD-1 AND HD-2 MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER SAID CONTEST UNDER THE SPECIFIC RULES FOR THAT PARTICULAR CONTEST.
DECISIONS MADE BY KLUX MANAGEMENT AND STAFF REGARDING WINNERS ARE FINAL AND NOT SUBJECT TO APPEAL……..
SHOULD AN ANNOUNCED PRIZE(S) BECOME UNAVAILABLE, AT TIME OF PRESENTATION TO WINNER(S), A SUBSTITUTE PRIZE OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED.
IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS, AN INDIVIDUAL WINNER MUST WAIT A MINIMUM OF THIRTY (30) DAYS BEFORE ENTERING ANOTHER CONTEST.
INDIVIDUALS GIVING FALSE INFORMATION REGARDING IDENTITY OR CONTEST ELIGIBILITY, WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DETERMINED TO BE INELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A PRIZE FROM THAT CONTEST, OR ANY FUTURE CONTEST CONDUCTED BY KLUX HD-1 OR HD-2 OR ITS AFFILIATES OR ASSIGNS.
ANY PRIZE NOT CLAIMED, WITHIN THE SPECIFIED AND ANNOUNCED TIME LIMIT, SHALL BE AWARDED TO ANOTHER ELIGIBLE CONTESTANT AS DETERMINED BY STATION MANAGEMENT AND STAFF.
KLUX RADIO NOR ITS PARENT COMPANY, DIOCESAN TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION, SHALL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE, OR IN ANY WAY LIABLE FOR ANY PRIZE, AWARD, OR OTHER CONSIDERATION WHICH IS WITHDRAWN OR OTHERWISE VOIDED BY THE DONATING ENTITY.
ANY TAXES, FEES, SURCHARGES, OR OTHER SUCH CHARGES RESULTING FROM A CONTEST PRIZE AWARDED, SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNING PARTY, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE RULES FOR THAT PARTICULAR CONTEST.
EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, AND DIRECTORS OF KLUX-HD RADIO, OR DIOCESAN TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND THEIR COLLECTIVE IMMEDIATE FAMILIES ARE INELIGIBLE FOR ANY KLUX – HD ON AIR CONTEST.
FOR LOGISTICAL REASONS, THE MAJORITY OF CONTESTS PRESENTED ON KLUX-HD1 & HD2, WILL BE OF THE “CONTESTANT PHONE IN” TYPE. THAT IS, WHEN A CONTEST IS ANNOUNCED, THE ANNOUNCER WILL ASK FOR CALLERS, AND A CERTAIN NUMBERED CALLER WILL AUTOMATICALLY WIN THE ANNOUNCED PRIZE.
Call In Contest EXAMPLE:
Announcer: “We have a pair of tickets to _________ concert. If you’re caller number 5 at 361-289-2487, you’ll win those tickets. Call now.”
The on-air person will then answer that particular phone line and say to the first caller, “You’re caller #1. We’re seeking #5. Please try again.” Then he hangs up.
The process is repeated until Caller #5 is achieved. The staff person obtains information from the caller (name, address, phone #, etc) and informs him/her that that he/she has won and details on how to obtain the offered prize are given.
Those details may include the winner coming by the studios by a specified date to pick up the offered prize. Also, particularly with concert or venue tickets, the winner will be instructed to pick up prize(s) at a “Will Call” window or other determined location. In other instances, the prize may be mailed by the station to the winner. Other modes of delivery may be utilized as the situation determines.
The winner’s name is then announced on the air, and that contest episode is completed.
File copies of “winner lists” will be maintained for a period of time, not less than through the conclusion of said contest.
These rules will be amended as needed for various contests, as they are employed.
